There were so many teachers

There were so many teachers and staff members that I can recall in my days at Taft High School yet I feel compelled to share just a few a my favorites. First off there was Mr. James J. Stamm (known to all as, J.J.). What can you say6 about him. A real genius in the field of music and choral assemblies. He made Taft an enjoyable experience for both old and young alike. Great choir concerts were arranged by him as well as some of the greatest stage plays in the auditorium. Second, Mr. Ron Dluger. By far a teacher many students looked up to in the theater arts. Known not only for his brillant plays but for his work on Theater By the Lake. I can also recall some of the greatest coaches we had in sports: Ed Mitchell (Baseball), Charles Dobrath (Football), Roy Horton (Track & Field, Cross-Country). I could go on and on. Many students today would be proud to have attended Taft High back in the '70's., especially having a great principle as Mr. John P. Graven as a leader both in the school as well as the community.
