I remember the swim suits
I remember the swim suits very well, the red ones were for people who could swim, while the blue were for non swimmers. It seemed that no matter what size you were none of the suits fit anyone!
I don't recall any red swim
I don't recall any red swim suits, just those dark blue ones, faded by overexposure to chlorine, and stretched out to the max. I think they only came in small, medium and large, and the matron assigned to the locker room would decide which size fit you best and issued it to you. Then she would take a piece of string and tie together the shoulder straps on your back to keep them from falling off your shoulders while you were in the pool. At the end of the period you would stand in line while the matron cut the string off with a pair of scissors so that you could get out of your swim suit. I guess they never had to worry about anyone trying to steal them out of the locker room. LOL

Does anyone remember Mr.
Does anyone remember Mr. Gnagni (science) and/or Mr. Wood (english)? I loved these two teachers the most!
I had neither teacher while
I had neither teacher while at Tuley. My favorite teacher was Mr, Haig, the freshman English teacher. After the end of my freshman year, 65, at the student/teacher baseball game in Humboldt park, in his little red VW, he drove my sister and me home because it was on his way home. That was very nice of him and he talked to my mother about what a student I was in his class. He told her that I should read more and I did that summer vacation, about 30 books. And I haven't stopped since. I recently donated 350 books to Little City for their book sale.
