My father, Harold Zlatnik taught music and band at Englewood High School from 1940 to 1960. He had many illustrious students including Lorraine Hansberry and Geraldine Page, plus countless people who went on to have careers in the music world. As a kid, I went to many EHS football games when the band was playing, and to school with my dad when there were days off for students but not for teachers. I would love to hear from his former students. Anyone remember "The LOOK" ?

My years at Englewood were the best. I can remember my first day walking through the door where you were meet with the ohh so shiny brick floors from the Old Englewood better known to others as the "The Castle". There displayed all of the sports and activities there were offered at Englewood; such as rowing, football, track and field, tennis, and many other activities. Despite the reputation that society and the community tried to protray our Eagles continue to soar high and made tireless efforts to reach the top. Now I blieve in the saying " What dont kill you makes your stronger", and that is what Englewood has done for me. From traveling over the world, and living in various states I will always remember my Alma Mater located on 6201 South Stewart and My Division 701. Being apart of one of the biggest graduating class; 1997 makes me value the hard work the faculty and staff that was there the year I close my chapter at ETPA. God Bless the pass and present students, faculty and staff, and furture leaders to come. No other school can ever take the place of Englewod with its rich tradition and long history the Eagle will forever soar, and never faint.
