Geography teacher

Mr. Owens is one of my favorite teachers at Hubbard High. Without him I would not know my Great City of Chicago. He taught us that if you did not know your own neighborhood or your own city how are you expected to know the world. I remember some of the tricks he taught on how to get around Chicago I impress my nephews with that knowedge today.

Softball Champs of '78

Hubbard was the first City Champions in High School Girls 12 inch softball in the 1978-79 school year. We were undefeated and were honored by the Mayor, Jane Byrne, with a plaque and a tour with her. We came in 2nd place
in 1979- 80 school year. We reclaimed the title of City Champions in 1980-81school year. The girls' Bowling team also went downstate for competition in the Bowling State Tournament in 1978-79 and 1980-81. We did not win though. Both
the softball and bowling teams were coached by Judy Lund and Anita Ramirez for all years and Carrie Felton was coach during 1978-79 with Judy Lund and Anita Ramirez.
