A great place

I went  to school  since in the middle kindergarten to the 8th grade. I liked this school so much.  Those were the good days. Would like to say "Hi" to the class of 92!!

Mrs. Johnson's 10,000 minus 8 Punishment

I remember Mrs. Johnson assigning (many times) a punishment to the entire class where you had to write out, in columns, math equations starting with 10,000 and then keep substracting 8.  That's 1,250 times!  It went on for pages and pages.  It was the most bizarre punishment ever, but I'll never forget it.  She'd assign it on a whim, whenever something ticked her off.  Wonder how she ever thought of that one?!

Mrs Goldrich - Turned me on to MATH

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Goldrich, I was fortunate to have her for my fifth and eighth grades.

It was her that got me interested into Math and special Math/Logic problems.

I believe she was more responsible than any other teacher I ever had in the development of my career.

After 34 years in the Computer business (BIG IRON - MAINFRAMES) I am about ready to retire.

Mrs. Clara Lenz

I had Mrs. Lenz for both 5th and 6th grade. She was my teacher when my dad died. I started "acting out" after he died and even though I was very difficult to deal with she always saw the good in me. She reached out to me and expected the best from me. I will never forget how she went out of her way to understand and help me. Thanks Mrs. Lenz! Cyndi Kaberline - Campbell

Mr Weber

I had Mr. Weber for a year and a half. It was the last half of sixth grade and all of seventh. Because of him I and my best friend became very interested in becoming artists. Because of him I went on to be a art major at Schurz High School and at the University of Ill and my friend followed suite at Lane Tech and the Art Institute. I never completed my education in art but my best friend did and  he went on to teach at the Art Institute.

Chalk Erasers

One of the memories I have is bringing down the chalk erasers to the janitors for them to clean. They had a vacuum that would clean the erasers.

DITTO MACHINES

Ditto Machines.....

Back in the 60's (soooooooooooooooo long ago)....does anyone remember the ditto machines?   The ditto paper when printed, had the most wonderful smell.  I remember many tests that were taken on the paper run thru the ditto machine (the ink was blue).   BZ
