My Great Grandmother was an educator in the CPS in the 1930's. My Great Grandfather Matthew Hevenor was an administrator in the CPS as well. My Grandmother Holley Hevenor was a CPS teacher her entire career and I came across a series of negatives that she had in her house that had gone unseen for decades. I scanned these a few months ago and they revealed several scenes including a series of school children from Bradwell in the 30's. My great grandfather was a hobbyist photographer and took these photos as he was learning about photography.

I attended Bradwell School until the 6th grade - only remember a couple of these classmates names. Do you recognize yourself or others? The Bradwell Life is a November 1947 edition.

I remember this day distinctly. The girl dressed as a "cigarette girl" (Yvonne Caspers) was the heartthrob of the neighborhood.
The second picture has names of the kids in room 207.
The bottom photo is the front page of the Bradwell Life, heralding the impending graduation of the class of 1958.

For some reason I remember this teacher as being from England on some special program. It sticks in my mind that we taught him how to play baseball and he taught us how to play cricket.
My Mom went to this school too, as did my two sisters.
