Favorite Teachers & Memories

Back in the 70's there were many teachers that I'm sure we'll never forget along with some memories

To name a few, I remember

- Mr. Crockett, Afro-American History, He was very powerful in his teachings

-Ms. Mills, Mrs. Fobs & Mr. Tirney of the Science Dept.

-Mr. Deer, Math

-Mr. Kahn Business Ed. ( sometimes we would cut his class, I know yall have cut a class at least once : )

-Mrs. Price, Teacher's Aide, she also had a sister that work in the office as well. They were known in the Chicago area for their powerful Gospel songs. Mrs. Price had a son named Louis that attended Marshall. He move to California after graduating and had a few parts in several movies , he also sang with the Temptations for a short time.

-Does anybody remember the hamburgers that were served in the cafeteria and we as students (some of us ) would ask for gravy or coleslaw to top them off? For some reason it made them taste better. Ever experience being in the lunch room, a fight broke out and we would scramble to get under the tables?

-Remember Barbara Bates, she was homecoming queen for 1972 or 73, she became very successful, ever heard of Barbara Bates Fashions, her clients consist of many celebrities.

-During the 1970's Mickey Johnson played Basketball and went on to play for the Chicago Bulls, I believe he's currently a cook county correctional officer .

Mrs. Boyd, One of My Most Memorable Teachers

My favorite teacher was Mrs. Boyd.  She taught college algebra.  She made us think for ourselves and really challenged us to be the very best.  Some of my classmates were Eugene Mitchell, Rene Biship, Deloris Johnson, Debra Simpson.  I'm a graduate of the class of '85.
