Dear Lane Alumni,
The year 2008 is indeed a significant milestone for Lane Tech College Prep High School. Who could have predicted in 1908 that Lane would become an almost hallowed institution, well-known throughout the city and state? Lane has undergone many changes since its founding. The student population is one of the most racially and ethnically diverse in the state. Females are as equally represented as the males in academics, sports and extracurricular activities.
What has not changed is Lane’s reputation for excellence in all areas. Lane students continue to challenge themselves through the many honors and advanced placement classes offered and gain entrance to the finest higher educational institutions in the nation. Our sports program (which includes almost as many girls’ teams as boys’ teams) has led to more city championships than any other school in the city. Over 50 competitive academic teams as well as extracurricular clubs continue to offer students numerous opportunities to learn leadership and other cooperative skills.
I thank you for all you have done for Lane. It is through your continued support that our students can follow in your footsteps to become successful, useful citizens of this great country.
“Remember, wherever you go, whatever you do, remember the honor of Lane.”
Sincerely,
Antoinette LoBosco
Principal
