These group of players Won the City Frosh-Soph Championships in the 52-53 & 53-54 and finished second in 54-55. They went on to finish second in the 55-56 Varsity City Championship. They were led by good player (Melvin Mathis, James McClure, David Williams, George Mustiful, James Steele, Ronald Martin, Theotis Garth)

The Hyde Park H.S. 50 year class reunion, class of 1959, will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2009 at the East Bank Club in Chicago.
There will be dinner, dancing to a DJ (music of the fifties), meet and greet and other activities.
