About Fenger, Christian Fenger High School

Fenger High School opened in 1915 in the Curtis Elementary School building at 11445 South State Street (later: 32 East 115th Street).

The school was transferred to its new location at 11220 South Wallace Street in 1926 when the building construction was completed.  Meanwhile, the former Fenger High School became the Curtis Junior High School.
