Kate Sturges Buckingham (1858 - 1937): patron of the arts. Best known for the Buckingham Fountain, in memory of her brother Clarence. Their father, Ebenezer, was one of the prime developers of Chicago, including being involved in the elevated train. She was godmother to the Art Institute and to the opera. She was a donor to the Museum of Natural History and to innumerable Chicago artists and charities. She also gave the memorial to Alexander Hamilton located in Lincoln Park at Stockton Drive near Diversey.
