About Beaubien, Jean B. Beaubien Elementary School

Jean Baptiste Beaubien (1780-1863): Beaubien was born in Detroit and settled in Chicago shortly after the Massacre of 1812. He worked as an agent of American Fur Company (1818) and became a captain in the Black Hawk war.  He brought the first piano to Chicago. Date of death: January 5, 1863; Naperville, IL
