About Aldridge, Ira F. Aldridge Elementary School

The building constructed in 1960 at the corner of 630 East 131st Street opened initially as a Branch of the Carver School.  In 1963 the school was renamed Ira F. Aldridge Elementary.  Now an independent elementary school, Aldridge still serves students at the same location today.
