CPSalumni.org is designed to promote connections among alumni of the Chicago Public Schools and their former schools and classmates by providing a unique forum and alumni page for every school that ever existed within CPS. Funding for the development and two-year operation of the site is provided by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation (www.sloan.org), and managed through the Partnerships Office of the Chicago Public Schools.
Our primary goals are:
- To identify and register CPS alumni.
- Collect and display historical information about the schools, students and staff.
- Encourage and enable submission of stories and photos from registered users.
- Share information about alumni groups and activities.
- Provide an easy way for current staff to identify and engage alumni in support of the school.
- Establish a new model for organizing a large body of alumni, primarily relying on the community building aspects of the internet and user generated content.
- Provide a non-commercial way to connect with former classmates and schools.
- Encourage loyalty towards and support for the Chiago Public Schools.
