Free Things for Schools and CPS
Our schools are always in need of various materials and equipment. Often companies and individuals give CPS material goods such as furniture, books, office supplies, musical instruments and new or gently used computers*. We post items here so that schools can see what is available. Principals and staff can use the form below to request items from the list. Donations are tax deductible. If you or your organization would like to make a donation, please call (773) 553-1540.

Items will be posted by the Department of External Resources and Partnerships. Unless otherwise noted, the items will remain listed through Friday of the week in which they are posted. All requests made in the week will be considered; however, submission of a request does not guarantee receipt of the item. Efforts will be made to distribute items widely over the course of the year. Schools (or programs) who are chosen to receive the items will be notified as quickly as possible the week following the request. Principals must designate a point person with whom delivery arrangements shall be made.
In addition to various individuals and organizations donating things to Chicago Public Schools, we asked our schools to fill out a specific wish list and turn it in to us. Below you will find some of the items they have requested. Please click here to see a list of items schools needs.

If you are a business or individual contemplating donating computers, please refer to the Handy Guide for Donating Computers.
For schools requesting computers, please refer to the Handy Guide for Receiving Computer Donations and fill out the TOP part of the Request Form for Used Computer Donations and fax to (773)553-1541. For schools accepting computer donations not received through free things, please fill out the Computers Not Donated through ERP form.
