I was saddened to hear of Mr. Tiritilli's death.  He was a brand new teacher and took over our homeroom after Mrs. Mitchell retired, and was a great adviser to a motley crew of seniors.  I never had him in a class, but he was always a friend and supporter, and I'm delighted to know he had a long and obviously popular career at Taft.  I know he will be missed by many.

I was in Mr. Tiritilli's A/P English class my senior year.  He was one of the best teachers I had at Taft or anywhere else, for that matter.

I had Mr. Tiritilli for my Accelerated English class back in the early 1960s. (This was before they were called A/P classes.) I can still visualize him with his salt & pepper hair, white shirt, with sleeves rolled up to the elbows, and Lucky Strike pack showing through his shirt pocket. Does anyone else recall Mr. Tiritilli calling William Shakespeare ... "Willie the Shake"?
