2009 marks the inaugural year for Volume, and we invited 17 CPS elementary schools to apply for the program. We evaluated schools based upon need, principal support, and the vision of library staff. From the 17 applicants, Gensler selected Kanoon Magnet Elementary as the winning school. Gensler’s hope is that in this initial year, we will learn how to run the project so that it can be expanded to encompass multiple schools and multiple design firms. We hope to create a sustainable program that will thrive in years to come.

This Fall, Kanoon will be celebrating the 25th Anniversary of its partnership with Sidley & Austin - and you're invited!

We are looking for 25 alumni for each year of the partnership to join us on the celebration day - probably late October, 2009.

Here's 2 things you can do to help:

1. Sign up on CPSalumni.org so we can keep you up-to-date on the celebration plans!

2. Help us spread the word! Tell all of your Kanoon friends about the celebration. Send them an email, a link to this page, anything - just get the word out.
