A 40th reunion event for the class of '69 is scheduled for July 11, 2009 at Allgauer's Hilton in Northbrook. Contact Diana (Doughty) Thompson at diski@aol.com for further details.

Two CPS Alums, Bob Sirott and Anna Davlantes, co-anchored the Chicago NBC 5 news broadcast this week. Could be the first time two Chicago Public Schools grads have done that. Sirott is an alum of Roosevelt and Davlantes is an alum of Disney and Lane Tech.

Hey kids, I'm planning the 15th Reunion
Celebration for the Roosevelt High School Class of '94 this year. I would like to
also invite all the alumni, friends, and former students (we all
remember CK Smith's speech about how many wouldn't graduate - so no
diploma's nessary to come out and celebrate with us). ;-)
Make sure to hit me up with your contact info for updates on the event.
Know a fellow "Rough Rider?" Have them contact me with their info,
too.
Don't forget to check out our school's site - so many wonderful changes (I'm totally trying not to hate - J/K).

NEWS - May 1, 2008: Roosevelt High School's Musical Theatre program was awarded $100,000 in honor of AARP founder, Dr. Ethel Percy Andrus.
The Musical Theatre Program is comprised of Roosevelt students of all ages as well as students from William H. Taft High School, Von Steuben Metropolitan Science Center, and Mary Gage Peterson Elementary School, under the direction of Cliff Gabor. This program brings together students of widely varying experiences, circumstances and cultures to enrich the lives of the students and the community. Prior to 2003, Roosevelt had gone nearly 40 years without a theatre program.
"Our theatre program is one of a kind," said Cliff Gabor, Roosevelt High School's Musical Theatre Director. "These kids put in so much time and effort into making the program successful and we are honored to receive this award from AARP."
AARP received several applications for the award in Chicago. The Roosevelt program was chosen for the important role the Theatre Program plays in the local community.
