Kanoon, Gerald Delgado (1937-1978)  George Delgado Kanoon was born in Zacualpan, Mexico.  He and his family relocated to Chicago, where Kanoon graduated from Chicago Teachers College and Northeastern Illinois University.  He then began teaching in the Chicago Public Schools.  An expert in science and bilingual education, Kanoon also worked as a university instructor and consultant for the government.
