Alexander Graham Bell (1847-1922): Born in Edinburgh. In 1868 he went to Kensington, England to adapt visible speech to the deaf. He opened a private normal school in Boston in 1872, was appointed professor of vocal physiology in the School of Oratory at Boston University, and developed the phonautograph, multiple telegraph, and telephone.
School History
Bell Elementary was originally developed with 15 classrooms for deaf children and 24 classrooms for hearing children.
